Dzisiaj recenzja "Miłość w czasach zarazy" Gabriela Garcii Marqueza .
Już od dawna chciałam ją przeczytać, bo uwielbiam romansidła, a fragment, który kiedyś przeczytałam bardzo mi się spodobał. Niestety nie odnalazłam tego fragmentu, książka okazała się całkiem inna niż sądziłam. Z jednej strony jestem rozczarowana, początek był nużący i miałam wątpliwości, czy wogóle ją dokończę. Brakowało mi takiego prawdziwego, namacalnego romansu, przynajmniej przez jakieś pierwsze 300 stron ( a ta książka nie ma nawet 400 stron w moim wydaniu ). Z drugiej strony, sama książka wcale nie jest taka zła, jeśli czytałabym ją nie oczekując niczego konkretnego. Moja opinia na temat doktora Urbino zmieniała się jakieś 3 razy, co się raczej nie zdarza często :D Główni bohaterowie także nie pozostają statyczni na przestrzeni tych ponad 50 lat. Pojawiło się wiele fragmentów, które zaznaczyłam, głównie ze względu na to, że uwielbiam wszystko związane z kulturą latynoamerykańską.
Ogólnie mam mieszane uczucia do tej książki, żałuję, że nie powaliła mnie na kolana. Na pewno trzeba się z nią zapoznać, bo to jeden z wielu klasyków, ale do tej książki należy po prostu dojrzeć, nie każdemu się ona spodoba, chociaż tak jest chyba z każdą książką :D

Today a review of "Love in the Time of Cholera" by Gabriel Garcia Marquez.
I wanted to read this book for a long time as I love romances and I loved a short extract from it that I've read earlier. Unfortunately, I couldn't find this extract, the book came out to be completely different than I thought. On the one hand, I'm disappointed, the beginning was quite boring and I doubted finishing it. I missed a real, visible romance for about 300 pages ( my copy isn't even 400 pages long ). On the other hand, the book itself isn't that bad if I were to read it without expecting anything specific. My opinion about doctor Urbino has changed like 3 times what doesn't happen that often :D The main characters also aren't static for all these 50 years. There are many quotes I flagged, mainly because I adore Latin American culture.
Overall, I have mixed feelings about this book, I truly regret it didn't sweep me of my feet. For sure it's a must read classic book, but one have to be mature enough for it, not everybody will like this novel, but it probably refers to every book :D
